another way: “I give you the clues, the work is yours.” Are we committed enough to the practice of yoga to take the corrections and actions our teachers give us, the clues, and explore them in our home practice. Do we practice the actions long enough to know which ones work well in our body and which ones don’t? Are we beginning to see our imbalances more clearly and trace them back to their source? When we work this way, the body becomes more aligned, aches and pains may vanish, and the mind penetrates inward, each year becoming more able to exist in the silent spaciousness of the present moment for longer periods of time.
Sharon Conroy has been practicing since 1986 and founded the Iyengar community in New Orleans 25 years ago last September. Her annual trips to study with the Iyengar family in Pune inspire her practice as well as the articles she writes on
practice and yoga philosophy.
In this class, students will work with a variety of Asanas, including inversions, with a special focus on opening the
shoulders and chest.
