The muscles of the hip play a very important role in keeping a good posture. These muscles are strengthened, nourished and made flexible with various asanas. Our program will bring insights into and understanding the pelvic girdle that holds and support the hip muscles.
Our work will involve extensive interrogation into the stabilizing nature of the pelvic girdle (hip bones) to perform asanas intelligently while standing, twisting, backward bending and forward bending. We will address one category of asana each day and understand in-depth the role of the Pelvic girdle in supporting or hindering the performance of that category of asanas
Intelligent practice in asanas allows the practitioner to develop discipline, strength and endurance to carry forward to the fourth rung of yoga, Pranayama. Sage Patanjali’s philosophy on pranayama (from chapter 2 of the yog sutras) and Guruji’s techniques in pranayama will be merged together to learn and experience various options of pranayama in savasana. However the key practice of pranayama will be Ujjayi 1, 2 and 3.
“I believe there is a lot one can learn from our approach to Asanas performed with in-depth understanding of the pelvic girdle”
